Resume Magic

Looking for a new job? Hearing conflicting information about what makes a good resume? Then this program is for you! Hear firsthand from Tracy Laswell Valdez (’98), a highly acclaimed job-search strategist and Metro State alum. Tracy will outline how to create a dynamic, powerful resume that will increase your chances of landing an interview. Participants are encouraged to bring copies of their most up-to-date resumes as there will be employers and career strategists on hand to review resumes from 7-8 p.m.

Keynote Speaker
Tracy is a job-search strategist who in the past 18 years has advised more than 4,000 clients in the management of their careers. Sought for her expertise by career journalists around the nation, she has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal and The Denver Post, among other publications.
An accredited, award-winning member (CPRW) of the Professional Association of Resume Writers since 1995, Tracy’s work has been featured in resume and cover letter books published by McGraw-Hill and JIST. She is author of “The Essential Job Search Companion: A Get To Work Book.”

A frequent speaker at job fairs and professional networking events, Tracy is the creator and facilitator of one of Denver’s most popular and longest-running job search clubs, The Caffeinated Careers Club, now in its twelfth year.

What’s the Caffeinated Careers Club?

Caffeinated Careers Club in Arvada is one of the Denver metro area’s longest-running job search club. Often imitated, but never matched!

At the Caffeinated Careers Club, we network, share advice, job leads, resources, and encouragement. Facilitated by job search expert Tracy Laswell Valdez, is positive, businesslike, uplifting, and focused. Established October 1999 and going strong, with typical attendance of 30+ individuals.

Cost: $1.00.
